What is SABA Sports?

SABA Sports is a sportsbook brand associated with Asian-facing sports markets, especially football handicap and goal-total betting. This guide covers the SABA Sports provider category within Nova88’s sportsbook section. Actual access, supported competitions and available features depend on the current integration.

Start with the selected match period and market line. An Asian Handicap, a match-result selection and a goal total can settle differently even when they refer to the same football fixture.

Markets may change before kick-off and during an event. The examples below illustrate settlement arithmetic; none of the numerical prices shown here is a current quotation or prediction.

Asian Handicap

Whole, half and quarter lines adjust the selected team’s score for settlement.

Football Totals

Over/Under markets settle on the total goals within the stated match period.

In-Play Markets

Markets offered during an event can move or close as the match progresses.

Asian Handicap: whole, half and quarter lines

An Asian Handicap gives one team a virtual head start or disadvantage for the purpose of settling a selection. It does not change the official match score. A negative handicap requires the selected team to overcome a deduction; a positive handicap gives it additional goals in the settlement calculation.

Half-goal lines avoid draws in ordinary two-way football settlement. A selection on Team A -0.5 requires Team A to win. A +0.5 selection wins if the selected team wins or draws. Whole-number lines can produce a refund when the adjusted outcome is tied.

SelectionMatch resultSettlement
Team A -0.52–1 victoryFull win
Team A -1.02–1 victoryFull refund
Team A -1.52–1 victoryFull loss
Team A +0.51–1 drawFull win
Team A 01–1 drawFull refund
Team A -0.752–1 victoryHalf win, half refund

The examples assume standard full-time settlement. Other periods and exceptional match circumstances must be checked against the current rules.

Quarter handicap example: -0.75

Quarter lines divide the original stake into two equal portions on neighbouring handicap lines. With -0.75, one half is placed on -0.5 and the other on -1.0.

RM40 at 1.90 decimal odds: RM20 is assigned to -0.5 and RM20 to -1.0. If the selected team wins by one goal, the -0.5 portion pays RM38 gross and the -1.0 portion returns RM20. Total return is RM58, meaning RM18 net profit.

The reverse type of partial settlement occurs with +0.25, which divides a stake between 0 and +0.5. A drawn match refunds the zero portion and wins the +0.5 portion. This is why a quarter line cannot be evaluated in the same way as a simple match-result selection.

When a handicap is not the same bet

A Team A -0.5 full-time selection and a Team A -0.5 first-half selection use the same numerical handicap but settle on different periods. Confirm whether extra time, penalty shootouts or another event extension applies before interpreting any price.

Over/Under and quarter-goal totals

Over/Under concerns the combined goals scored by both teams. Over 2.5 wins if there are at least three goals; Under 2.5 wins if there are two or fewer.

Whole-number totals can be refunded. Over 2.0 returns the stake when exactly two goals are scored. Quarter totals divide the stake in two, just as quarter handicaps do.

SelectionTotal goalsOutcome
Over 2.53Win
Under 2.52Win
Over 2.02Refund
Over 2.252Half loss, half refund
Under 2.252Half win, half refund

For more examples, read the Over/Under football betting guide.

A totals market for football goals differs from a basketball points total or a first-half football total. Read the market label and its applicable event period before relying on the displayed line.

1X2, Draw No Bet and decimal odds

Football 1X2 has three outcomes: home win, draw or away win. A team-to-win selection usually loses when the match ends level, unlike a zero Asian Handicap or standard Draw No Bet selection, which can return the stake.

Decimal odds express a possible gross return. At 1.80, a fully winning RM50 wager returns RM90 in total, including RM40 profit and the RM50 original stake. The bookmaker’s prices also contain a margin, so implied probability should not be confused with independently verified true probability.

Some interfaces permit switching between decimal, Malay, Hong Kong or other odds formats. Confirm the actual displayed format before attempting any financial calculation.

Live SABA Sports market considerations

During a football match, a goal, injury, red card or review can change market prices or suspend betting. A score feed and video broadcast may be delayed relative to the service’s internal event state.

A selection is subject to its actual accepted price and relevant confirmation rules. It should not be treated as valid merely because an earlier quotation appeared on screen. Markets can be repriced, rejected or temporarily unavailable.

Not a live odds feed: This page does not provide current events, accepted prices or guaranteed market availability. Compare actual market rules and final odds in the current sportsbook.

Four checks before reading a bet slip

1. Verify the fixture

Check both teams, competition and selected match period.

2. Read the exact line

Distinguish quarter, half and whole handicap or totals values.

3. Confirm the displayed price

Check the odds format and whether the quotation has changed.

4. Understand settlement

Look for pushes, half results, cancellations and special event rules.

Mobile interfaces may place important details behind expandable market panels. Do not rely on colour, abbreviated labels or a screenshot alone when interpreting the outcome of a selection.
